Day 60

Saved2“Life begins on the other side of despair.” ~ Jean-Paul Sartre. I have found this to be so true. In 1993, I went through a traumatic experience that drove me out of Pennsylvania into New Jersey where I only knew one person. I went from a situation where I was surrounded by friends, loved ones, and enemies on a daily basis to a situation where I knew one person and that person had ulterior motives where I was concerned. Eventually, I ended up in a place where my evenings were spent talking to the four walls. The Holy Spirit was there with me, but I didn’t know Him that way. In 1994, I found what is now my church home and my life has never been the same. I found Jesus in a whole new way. I needed to be removed from distractions so that I could come to know Him. I think of those days in Pennsylvania because many of them are fond memories. I also know that I had to be literally transplanted so that I could come to know Jesus. When I think in those terms, I realize being transplanted was a small price to pay for eternal life. And therein lies my Joy.
