Day 56

October 16th, 2014

Wisdom1“Oh, my friend, it’s not what they take away from you that counts. It’s what you do with what you have left.” ~ Hubert Humphrey. As I enter the next phase of my life, I realize that I don’t move as quickly as I did, let’s say 20 years ago. I’m not as quick to respond. If my life depended on my running at a quick pace, I’d just have to resign myself to meet my Maker. However, what I do have left is a mind that is vibrant and active. My fingers can still dance across my keyboard at rapid speed. Instead of dwelling on things that I may not be able to do as well as I did in my youth, I concentrate on the things that I can do. Physically, I may not get there as quickly as I did in past years, but I do get there. I give myself the additional time that I need to reach my destinations. I work with what I have. I praise the Lord for what I have and what He has given me. I move slower. But I move. And therein lies my Joy!
