Day 54

Beautiful Mind“The devil’s job is to try to convince you that the strength God gave you is not enough.” ~ Bishop David G. Evans. All of us are faced with challenges that can often appear to be negative. When I turned my life over to the Lord, my constant prayer was and still is to ask for “strength, wisdom, and encouragement.” In the beginning, I did not realize that anything that is gained is gained through exercising that area. When we want to strengthen our body, we have to exercise that body beyond its limitations. Gaining wisdom is not limited to book knowledge. It also involves gaining experience by going through situations and learning from those situations. As these areas are exercised and stretched, I need encouragement so that I am not discouraged while I’m exercising and being stretched beyond my “natural” limitations. Natural limitations are defined by the world around us. But, we know that we can do all things through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:13). When I reach an obstacle, I try to remember that I can do all things. I try to keep my ear inclined to the voice of the Lord. Initially, I may take a step back. I think that’s only natural. The Lord has told me that He is my shepherd. So when confronted with the distractions from the devil, I try to Stop, Look, and Listen. And therein lies my Joy.
