Day 47

Comforter“We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey.” ~ Kenji Miyazawa. Most of us have experienced pain. I don’t have to describe how unpleasant it is when we are experiencing pain. I recall times when I almost allowed pain to destroy me. I’ve had my share of physical pain – which in itself is no joke and I don’t take it lightly. However, there are times when mental pain or mental anguish can be more debilitating than physical pain. How does one heal something that cannot be seen, heard, or touched? There were times when I attempted to heal that pain by over-indulging in other areas. Doing so only covers the pain and it certainly isn’t everlasting. Additionally, it creates a larger burden because we all know that we reap what we sow. Sowing into bad ground does not generate a positive harvest. It generates weeds that must be separated and the cycle goes on and on. I am so glad that I was introduced to The Comforter. I still experience pain. But I have guidance as I’m going through. I have The Comforter as I’m going through. I am not alone and the pain isn’t debilitating. And therein lies my Joy.
