Day 24

September 23rd, 2014

Hope“Simplicity is making the journey of this life with just baggage enough.” ~ Author Unknown. I’m a packrat. There! I’ve admitted it to the world. I save practically everything just in case I find a need for it later. I think this goes back to when my parents and grandparents found new uses for old things as a way to save and be prudent. The problem is, I don’t find a new use for anything. I just save it. Just as we should try to keep our physical things organized and in order, we should keep our daily activities and lifestyles organized and in order. Anything that is just sitting around becomes dead weight and clutter. Clutter is distracting. If there is no benefit, it should be cut out or cut off. That includes friends and acquaintances who are weighing us down and have become a distraction. Removing clutter from our lives helps us to be more focused so that we do not lose sight of our goals. My prayer is that I can discern between what distracts me and what keeps me focused. I also pray that I will have better control over physical things that, after all, are temporal. I thank God that His wisdom will continue to lead me in the right direction. And therein lies my joy.
